In today’s changing IT environment, staying ahead of risks can often be a difficult task. Emerging threats to an organization must be constantly assessed and evaluated, with the right plan for mitigation and recovery in place.
This year at EXECUforum, Lynn Manzano, director, Business Continuity with Experian, helps bring clarity to the topic of continuity impact assessments and risk mitigation—put in the context of what executives must know in order to keep their organization prepared to respond to emerging threats. Here is a glimpse at what attendees can expect:
SHARE: This year at EXECUforum, you will be presenting on the topic of continuity impact assessments and critical risk mitigation—a presentation titled ‘Tying it Together.’
Manzano: This presentation is geared towards the executive who needs to be able to answer the following questions:
- Can the business really recover its critical products and services within the required timeframes?
- Are the interdependencies of the critical products and services understood?
- Can the recoverability/resiliency of the critical products and services be demonstrated through testing?
- And if not, what is the risk to the enterprise and what are the options to mitigate that risk that are acceptable to the business.
SHARE: Can you talk a bit more about this presentation and some of the key takeaways for attendees?
What are some common challenges that your presentation will help solve?
Manzano: Coming away from this session, I anticipate that attendees will be able to better evaluate enterprise product/system criticality and assess it against such factors as work area and disaster recoverability requirements/needs. They will be able to ensure that the risk is well communicated and understood with all the key stakeholders.
I think it is important to note that some common challenges that I plan to address include balancing continuity risks, growth, and investment planning.
SHARE: Why is it important for SHARE colleagues to come together at EXECUforum? What are you most looking forward to?
Manzano: Overall, I am looking forward to the way in which EXECUforum helps foster new ideas and thinking in the industry; things that I can take back and incorporate into our program. I am also looking forward to making new contacts and enjoying the conference.
