By the end of the year, many of us make resolutions to improve something in our lives, such as drinking more water or sticking to a healthier diet.
As each of us makes adjustments in the new year, we can focus on our mental wellness this January, taking lessons from the past and adapting to the changes around us. SHARE and our members need to take a moment to ease that sense of overwhelm that may come with the new year.
I recharge my energy and focus by reading or even heading outdoors to hike, hunt, or, more recently, take a run. If that doesn't work for you, consider challenging yourself outside work to do something that you find difficult. When you push yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally outside work, the everyday work pressure becomes more manageable.
Another way to help relieve work stress is to become active in your SHARE community. Connecting with your colleagues and peers outside the office at SHARE's events can not only increase your network and ability to collaborate, but also ease some of the stress by helping you find technical solutions and just have fun.
Of course, attending events like these can cause anxiety, but our event app can help you plan which sessions to attend in advance of the conference. My advice: be sure to have a backup session if the one you planned to attend isn't what you thought it would be.
I am eager to reconnect with my peers and colleagues at SHARE Atlanta (March 5-8). Like you, SHARE has looked at all 2022 brought us and will unveil new year-round education opportunities for everyone. This year, we are focusing on making the SHARE content that is presented during our events more consumable and digitally accessible.
