As a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing education and resources to the mainframe community, SHARE is continuously striving to grow our user base and expand our digital footprint. In pursuit of this goal, we have recently revamped our membership format and are now introducing SHARE’d Knowledge, a Learning Management System (LMS), to enable a dynamic learning environment where members can share ideas.
We are excited to announce a special incentive for all our members, encouraging your participation in the SHARE’d Knowledge LMS platform. We are actively seeking customer/user (non-vendor) videos on various mainframe topics. If your video submission is accepted, you will receive an exclusive reward: three months of free access to SHARE’d Knowledge.
Your video submission can cover a wide range of engaging and informative topics, including but not limited to:
- How-to tutorials on mainframe applications
- Best practices for mainframe development
- Case studies of mainframe deployments
- Personal experiences with the mainframe
We are particularly interested in videos that are created by experienced mainframe professionals who can share their knowledge and expertise with others.
If you are interested in submitting a video, please visit the submission form found on SHARE’d Knowledge. In addition to uploading your video, you will need to provide some basic information about your video, such as the title, the category, and the topic. We look forward to seeing your submission.
Why SHARE’d Knowledge?
The launch of this initiative, driven by SHARE as a user group, is underpinned by several compelling reasons. Firstly, we strongly believe that customer/user videos represent one of the most valuable resources for the mainframe community. In contrast to vendor-produced content, mainframe customers offer unique insights and perspectives that can greatly enrich the knowledge base of the entire community.
Second, our expansion of the online platform will broaden our reach to individuals who may not have the opportunity to attend in-person conferences. By providing accessible online resources and opportunities for participation, we aim to streamline education and foster a stronger sense of community engagement, allowing more people to benefit from and contribute to the collective knowledge pool.
Additionally, we are committed to promoting the mainframe as a powerful and relevant platform that continues to be widely used in the enterprise. However, we recognize that it is often perceived as a complex and enigmatic technology. Through our inclusive changes to membership and the implementation of SHARE’d Knowledge, we are taking proactive steps to reach a larger audience, encompassing more customers and end-users. By doing so, we seek to demystify the mainframe and break down barriers to entry, making it more accessible and appealing to a diverse and broader audience.
In summary, this initiative serves as a testament to SHARE's dedication to empowering the mainframe community through the invaluable insights of its users, promoting inclusivity through an expanded online presence, and dispelling misconceptions to create a more approachable and thriving mainframe ecosystem for all.
