I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve as president of SHARE, an organization that has played a meaningful role in my professional journey and in strengthening the global mainframe community. SHARE has always been more than a conference or a professional association. It’s a volunteer-driven community built on a passion for education, connection, and collaboration in support of the organizations that depend on mainframes and their co-existence with enterprise IT solutions.

Throughout my career, SHARE has provided opportunities to demonstrate expertise, build credibility, mentor others, and lead initiatives that help strengthen our community. From my involvement with Women in IT to serving in volunteer leadership roles and on the SHARE Board, I have seen firsthand the impact engaged members have on the direction of both the organization and the industry.

One particularly meaningful experience for me was serving as SHARE’s project officer for Security in the 1990s, when I led an effort to develop a Db2 security white paper that was ultimately presented to IBM leadership. That experience showed me how SHARE members can influence not only one another, but also the direction of the broader industry.

As I look ahead, my leadership vision is grounded in a simple belief: SHARE must continue to be the place where the people who build, secure, modernize, and operate mission-critical systems come together to shape the future of the platform and the community that supports it.

The mainframe remains essential to the industries and institutions that power our daily lives. At the same time, the environment around us is changing quickly. Organizations are navigating hybrid cloud strategies, AI, cybersecurity risk, regulatory pressure, modernization demands, and a growing need for skilled professionals. These forces create both urgency and opportunity for SHARE.

During my presidency, I will focus on three priorities:

1. Strengthen SHARE’s Relevance and Value

Our community has a powerful story to tell about the importance of mainframe technology, the expertise of the professionals who support it, and the continued innovation happening across this ecosystem.

I want to ensure SHARE remains a trusted voice for the industry and a clear source of value for members at every stage of their careers.

2. Expand Learning, Engagement, and Connection

SHARE’s strength has always come from its members: volunteers, educators, practitioners, leaders, partners, and emerging professionals who give their time and expertise to help others grow.

I want to build on that foundation, developing year-round opportunities for members to contribute, collaborate, participate, and learn.

3. Prepare the Mainframe Community for the Future

The future of enterprise computing will require both technical depth and strategic leadership. SHARE can help bridge that gap by creating space for conversations about modernization, security, skills development, AI, resiliency, and the role of the mainframe in an increasingly interconnected digital world.

My commitment is to listen, to collaborate, and to help guide SHARE in a way that honors its history while positioning the organization for continued impact.

We have an extraordinary opportunity to strengthen our community, welcome new voices, support the next generation of leaders, and reinforce the value of the mainframe within the broader technology conversation.
